Any of you East Tn guys have any firsthand knowledge of this shop? Their operation and rep? Not looking to bash, just looking for information. Thanks.

Thanks, saw them some time back at a gun show. They had a very good selection. So-so pricing. But offered some package deals on suppressed Rugers. Was tempted, but wanted some feedback on them. And needed to learn a little more about the suppressors as well.

Anyone else? Any comments?

I do kind of, sort of know a couple of the folks that work there as well as the owner, Warren (I think is his name). I havent purchased a firearm from them, but I do stop in every so often and have purchased a few small items there. A few weeks ago I stopped in to drop off something for one of the workers (our sons were on the same t ball team) and saw a Kel Tec PMR 30. I want one, but thier price seemed a bit high so I walked away. Thats about all i know. LOL

I ve had a terrible experience there and a good one also. If the deal was right I would do buisness again though. I generally dont do buisness in Cleveland because of the extra sales tax and other personal reasons.

If I am not totally mistaken (and that happens a lot!) my gunsmith either works for them or used to (?), a Mr. Donahue. If he still works there he does very, very good, practical work. I have not been to the shop though.

I bought two FNH SLP Mark 1s from VOW. The only problem I have with VOW is they are at gun shows a lot of weekends, and the only time I can visit their shop is on Saturdays.

Patton, would you care to elaborate on your two experiences? If not pupliclly on the forum, perhaps in a pm? Again, not trying to stir the pot here, I do have a reason for asking.

I've never been to their shop but bought a rifle from them at a gun show, and enjoy looking at their selection at gun shows. The times I've talked to them they have been very pleasant. Seemed knowledgable, helpful, and not pushy about making a sale.

I have seen several guns I would have bought from them except for the high prices. I don't believe in horse-trading and arguing about price. If somebody knows what they need out of a product then its their own business what number to write on the price tag. And it is my choice whether to part with the money. No hard feelings. They seem nice folks. Just a little too high-priced on the items I've seen that I'd like to buy.

Put it this way, I went there for the first time ever looking for a deal of some kind, particularly a deal on a used deer rifle. I was told that when he had them, which was rare, that they were a deal. The owner with a dry sense of humor was not too welcomeing and seamed disturbed that I was not in the market for a "black gun". I made the mistake of telling him I was just looking and looking for a deal on whatever. I at this point had allready stayed my welcome. I guess looking for a deal is not accepted there. I get the feeling it is not a place to go if your not too serious in buying something.

My good experience was going in there and looking at a used pistol and making a reasonable offer and he accepted. I did the paperwork and walked out happy. Like all good gun shop experiences should go.

There salesman, If they don't have what you want they will sell you what they have. They just get too emotional. You can't sell to everyone that walks through the door.

Thanks. I have been looking to purchase from them and pretty much gotten the same kind of service. Just wondering if it was me, or if it was a pattern.

Thanks to all for the comments.

I've been there a few times, never bought a firearm there but did get a good deal on some 7.62x54. Salesman was a little dry but other than that seemed an OK place. Check it out, if their prices seem to high, just smile and walk away

i have been in several times. the only thing i have gotten was some army ammo cans. they had the best price around. all other items to me are priced high. you don't know how the salemen/owner will act when you go in. sometimes they will talk to you, other times they don't. but when i am around cleveland i stop in the see what they got.

On the subject of cleveland gun stores what happened to DG Ordinance? Used to go there to get my 7.62x54 and the guy who owns it was very nice, let me look at any gun even though I wasn't buying, liked to shoot the **** with anyone even if they were just looking, hell one day I saw him at the range and he gave me some 7.62x54 on the house. In my opinion it was the best one in cleveland.

I have delt with VOW a few times since they changed ownership a few years ago. They also handled a couple of transfers for me with no issues.

I took a gun in once for some smith work, but they showed me how to fix it myself - no charge.

The shop is ok. 'spensive but decent selection.

Warren, the owner, is a little dry. He did right by me with some trade in I had. They are not the cheapest around but they have a pretty good selection.
