Absolutely DO NOT order any from Customkillergrips.com I put in an order close to a year ago, never received the grips and after multiple emails went unresponded to had to get on their facebook page and request a refund. It was promised, but never delivered. Shady, shady, shady.

I know they are common and not terribly pretty but IMHO you cannot beat the hogue ones that wrap around to provide finger grooves, that soft, easy to grip rubber just feels amazing to me.

Sarge's Grips

Has the best custom wood grips for 1911, hands down. He does not checker but he does stippling. I have a set on my EDC and love the non checkered grips.

These are Amboyna Burl. He has exotic wood or just standard stuff. Great quality, you really should check them out.

Hogue makes more than just the generic wrap arounds with finger groves (but they are very comfy and great value!). Take a look at the extreme series g10's. Not sure what sort of "pretty" you are going for, but they have some damn fine looking g10's.

or some of their wood ones.
