A lot of guys killed back in "the good old days"… on the track and along the sidelines and in the pits. When I was a kid, I saw a man get killed in a race car on a dirt track in KY. The cars weren't safe at all. Thank goodness things have changed for the better.

I dunno about it taking a real man, fearless man maybe or a stupid one. Them guys in the open cockpit cars were nuts

Only thing I can not stand about today's world of racing (NASCAR) is that all of the cars are the same. Give me different bodies. Bring back the Oldsmobile, Lumina, Buick, Old Grand Prix, and the Thunderbird bodies.

What looks better than this?

But I'll agree that your photo is from when NASCAR was more about racing and less about entertainment. Funny thing is, it was also more entertaining then too....
