A good durable coating that I can spray at home?

Hey all, I had my Kel-tec in a vehicle and it picked up some moisture and got some rust spots.

I am going to strip and coat it now to both clean it up and protect from this happening again.

I have used Gun-Kote from Brownells before but it isn't as durable as I would like.

Does anybody have any recommendations for a good coating I can spray at home that will hold up well.

I have a sprayer, so it doesn't have to be aerosol and I also have an oven, so it can be a bake on coating.

I don't want to pay to have it coated since it is an inexpensive gun that is carried a lot.

Thanks,

J.D.

If duracoating is old fashioned I must be ancient.

Moly Resin is the way to go....have probably used a gallon of the stuff over the years (that is a lot!) and it has never let me down.

It + Parkerizing is the best finish you can put on a gun aside from metal plating of various forms...IMHO
