Help me with terminology - muzzle related

I am trying to identify the term for this accessory I saw recently on a Glock. It was a cover that goes on the end of the muzzle that prevented the gun from going out of battery. It sort of looked like a thin meat tenderizer. What would you call this? It would be useful in the event that your weapon was pressed against someone and normally wouldn't be able to fire.

Any help??

Muzzle brake? This came up in a discussion with a revolver enthusiast recently. I am also wondering if there is a device that can actually prevent this in a semi auto pistol. The conventional wisdom says "revolver."

I am thinking better training or better situational awareness that doesn't put me in that proximity. However, I can see this happening and maybe a J-frame is the best insurance.

I dunno, but don't think "just carry a 1911" is necessarily the answer.

I believe you're referring to a Standoff Device, here's a link:

WILSON DEFENSE JOURNAL: Glock Stand-Off

Not my cup of tea, but interesting.

I remember when I was researching my carry pistol and I came across one of the numerous disputes between the XD and Glock fans, and the XD having an extension on the guide rod to serve as a stand-off device was cited as the reason the XD was superior.

I wrote it off then as I am now.

It seems to be the best answer for me!:)
