This Sheriff has added his two cents on this subject. He said he is not concerned about the growing number of legally armed people in his county. In fact, he said he believes law-abiding citizens make the region safer by getting the permits.

I've had this conversation with my Sheriff and he is fully on the side of pro-carry permit. He has no problem with law-abiding citizens carrying firearms for personal defense. He's also a member of my gun club. Not all are like this, but I bet the majority outside the big city counties in TN are.

Clearly, he's been paid off by the NRA and the gun industry. It is clearly impossible for any LEO to honestly hold the opinion that armed citizens are beneficial!
