I wouldn’t want to live in Chicago, but I love to go there to party; great city. I got my HCP after almost getting car jacked in Memphis.

I’ve travelled all over the country, Memphis and Detroit are the two places I can think of right off the top of my head I wouldn’t want to be without a gun.

Careful Dave! Comments like this will get you reprimanded that Memphis is just as safe as any place in the world.

I had to hit DC once for a conference, and flying in on a day trip, did not get to carry. Some of the areas we drove thru up there were poor and rough looking beyond description.

Movies (Regal Cinemas).

Regal cinemas is not legal posting IMO and why support them? Wynnsong is not posted and never crowded.

Scariest place I used to go was UTK. Now I'd say any airport.

I would agree with Eric. UT, but especially on a football/basketball game day. Its often dark and long walks. I carry a knife but that doesn't give me much comfort.

The Pinnacle is appropriate...I'm not sure about the other places.

Work. The guys there are freakin' crazy. (It's also the only place I don't carry.)

The hospital. At least the hospital I am at now has armed security; however, they are the Barney Fife type. If the SHTF, maybe I could just snatch one of their guns.

I try to not go to places where I can not go armed. It kills me when I pull up to work and have to leave my weapon in my vehicle especially when I am either getting off work or going to work at 11pm. Even sitting here in my recliner, my weapon is holstered and tucked between the seat and arm of my chair, ya know, just in case.

Eastern Europe...specifically Romania. Civilian gun ownership is extremely regulated and carrying weapons is prohibited.

I never did get a straight answer about carrying a knife.

The scariest place I go without a gun? I'm going back to school so I spend a lot of hours a week on a campus.

i remember a shooting at chuckey cheese and we joked that mr. gatti had got out of prison and set things right.

googled for details and it turns out that there have been many, many shootings at chuckeys, coast to coast.

don't know if it is scary, but it is stupid not to carry at the atm.

There are places, I have to go sometimes where I cannot carry as a matter of law and I don't break firearms laws; at least I never have knowingly done so...most of them are not places I consider especially "scarey" or dangerous.

Everyplace else, I carry...period.

I've often heard the phrase "I wouldn't go there without a gun"...I always wonder; if you wouldn't go there without a gun why would you go there with a gun???

I carry a gun because I may need it to save my life or the life of someone else someday but I also am smart enough to stay the hell away from areas I know are "scarey". Maybe I'm just odd that way??? :)

What are you thinking, talking all this common sense business?:D

Seriously, that's absolutely true. You might need your weapon ANYWHERE, but NEVER set about in an area where you are convinced you'll need it.

I might need my pistol while out shopping on West End but I AIN'T GOING DOWN ON LAFAYETTE!!! For no reason!

Back in High School I used to work at a Chuck E Cheese. I vividly remember one day when I had to wrangle an 8 year old with a 6 inch folding Buck knife out of the ball pit. He had just threatened to stab another kid. :)

I used to do collections for Comcast in the ghetto. I didn't get my permit till after I left there. Odd.

C.Lunn,

Judging from the picture, if you knocked on my ghetto door, I'd slide the money and a ten buck tip under the door and go hide in the bathroom . . . .:D
