As stated I have a 9mm AR and it its a flattop with rail....needs some sights....can't decide between troy fixed sights for $110 or a Vortex Sparc Red dot for $200...if it makes a difference im putting a spikes 37mm launcher on it too. :screwy:

Thanks!

We run a red dot on my wife's 9mm AR. Everybody who shoots it likes the setup. We did have irons on it and people didn't seem Timmons those as much. Might get the red dot and then find a dedicated grenade sight. I know they now have some with picatinny rails so you could QD the red dot and swap between the two as needed.

I would go with the Troy sights over the Sparc. I have both and the Troy sights as you stated are rock solid. For me the Sparc has been disappointing because I also use Aimpoint and Eotech. I know that the Sparc should not be compared to the premium sights, but I can't stand that spongy on/off button. The Sparc tends to be a solid little red dot, but I don't like having to hold my mouth just right to turn a sight on. I used mine until the original battery died them I took it off of my rifle and put it in a drawer.

I have not known any other owners to have any complaints with them.
