Concealed your holster or show

Here's my G19 in the Crossbreed holster. I also have a G22 (full-size .40) that fits it and conceals just as easily. (sorry about the poor quality of the pics... yes that is the same shirt, I was just using my point & shoot and the colors are way off.)

Getting in and out of cars doesn't bother me at this position. I certainly know it's there when I sit down, but after a couple of times you get used to it and once you get the position adjusted right it's really not uncomfortable.

Anything bad about the single hook IWB? Anybody out there try one? Some that I see have a offset hook and some have the hook centered. I'm Still thinkn about a cross draw, haven't heard from any one about that.

If you go back to my post on page 1 I mention the Galco SC2 IWB holster that I have. "Technically" it has two hooks, but they are right next to each other and it's a similar design to the Blackhawk version which has just one hook...

Again, I don't like it near as much as the Crossbreed. It (the gun) rides a little higher and tends to feel "top heavy" sometimes. By that I mean it feels like it wants to flip over... and if you ever find yourself having to drop trousers in the men's room while wearing it, it will flip over and muzzle you. Not a good feeling when you're sitting on the throne with your pants around your ankles and your gun is pointing back up at you! :)

Also, you can't adjust the cant on it (not sure about the Blackhawk one) so cross-draw would be out of the question. But then I'm not sure how you would cross-draw with a Crossbreed holster either... even if you got a left-handed version made the gun would be upside down for a proper cross-draw.

Like Mike says it's going to be hard to cross-draw with an IWB holster, assuming you find one that'll work. And an outside holster is going to be (more) difficult to conceal. You're going to have to compromise somewhere...

I carry a G19 in an MTAC every day along with at least one Kaluban Cloak mag carrier. Don't worry so much about slight printing - the general public doesn't notice anything. If you go around wearing firearm-related shirts, or 5.11s, some people might take a closer look, but in general those will be gun guys looking. I am a short, fairly skinny guy and if I can conceal this setup without wearing a goofy vest or oversized clothes, so can you. To be clear, I'm not rocking out with shirts so tight that you can see my nipples. (that's another thread)

Spend your money on some defensive training before you go too nuts on deciding how you're going to carry. There's a lot more to it than just buying a good gun, good holster, and good gunbelt. You've already got a solid gun which was the most expensive purchase, so don't cheap out on the other two items. Did I mention training?

The following picture was taken when someone on another forum to which I belong was concerned about concealment. Of course, a lot depends on your body type. I can't carry IWB but as you can see here, it isn't really that much of a problem. If it is too warm to wear a cover shirt, etc. I go with pocket carry with either my P3AT or 642.

Now, I don't usually carry this, particular revolver (it is a Taurus 66 with a four inch barrel) except when I am fishing/camping. I put it on for this pic just to show what is possible even in a cheap OWB Fobus paddle holster. I also don't carry the P3AT w/spare mag as a backup - if I am carrying it in my pocket then it is my primary. If it is playing BUG then it is in an ankle holster. Again, this was just to show what can be concealed. All this stuff was on me when the pic was taken:

Man, it must have been longer than I realized since that pic was taken. I have since re-done the homemade pocket holster (got rid of the 'retention' strip, removed the stitching and re-stitched the holster with the rough side out.) I think I've lost some weight since then, too (not much but maybe a little.)

I have a Crossbreed Super Tuck and I just ordered one of these and I've also tried a Galco Kingtuk

Advanced Holster - Home

I ordered that one to see if I like it better than the Crossbreed but on a serious note, you should really just try out a bunch of them. The Galco Kingtuk is a good holster but it doesn't adjust and the draw from it takes a long time to master. So I scrapped it in favor of a Crossbreed I got off eBay and I like it okay as it does the job but I wanted to see if this one feels better. Remember that you won't ever see your holster except when you're not wearing it and at that time, what's the point so don't be obsessed with looks. OWB are way way way way more comfortable but IWB conceals so much better.

I have the kholster "half moon" which I have modified (almost) to my liking and I have worn it for hours and have forgotten that it was there. It is alot less expensive than the crossbreed and much less wait time as well. For OWB I have a Galco M7X, I love this holster as well, snaps on quickly and very comfortable to wear.
