Just sent in my carry permit. I got a Glock 19. Looking for ideas to carry. Anybody got pictures of what there carrying holsters look like. Or what they don't look like. It would be a big help to a lot of us, maybe a few comments and pics of your holster and how you carry.

Inside Waistband Holsters - Minotaur Holsters - products new home - Minotaur MTAC Holster

This is NOT me (although, this guy's videos are interesting) drawing with the Glock 19 with the same holster I have the Minotaur MTAC. It is an IWB and extremely comfortable, unless driving . . . not so comfortable when on a road trip. For that reason, I have been lately looking at one of these:

Outside Waistband Holsters -

Also . . . you will want to get one of these or something similar

This is a great start. I'd like to see pics of how well the holsters conceals. I'll be in & out of a car. Also concerned about how the cover shirt looks. I might even go with a smaller size 9mm. ( Glock 26, Sig 290, Kahr pm9, Walther PPS??? ) I believe it K.I.S.S. & DAO

Don't be overly concerned with how it looks. Go with what you are most comfortable with.

+1 to that . . . the best weapon you have is the one you have with you. If it is uncomfortable, you are less likely to have it with you.

This.

Most people wouldn't notice if you were on fire. Most of those that would notice, wouldn't do anything about it.

I'm just curious about how different types of holster might print or show under a cover shirt. Saw a thread on Defensive carry forum, it had a lot of good pics on there. now I can't find it

Glock 19 here also and I use the Crossbreed holster as well. I also have a Galco SC2 but I don't like it near as much as the Crossbreed. It's servicable, but I just keep it as a backup holster incase something ever happens to the Crossbreed.

I found that the Galco prints easily if you don't position it just right, and the gun tends to ride higher. I'd have to pay attention to what shirt I was going to wear, make sure it was loose enough and I'd need an undershirt as well.

The Crossbreed keeps the gun tighter against me and it rides a little lower. Much easier to conceal as well as more comfortable. I don't have to pay nearly as much attention to what shirt I'm wearing now, as long as it's not too short, and no need for an undershirt either. Can't say enough good things about the Crossbreed holster.

I also have a Fobus Thumb-lever holster, but I don't recommend that for concealed carry. It's fine for open carry, but I carry concealed 99% of the time. Still, I have it if I ever need it.

An added bonus with owning Glocks....I just bought a G22 and all of my holsters fit it as well. :)

Get the Glock that fits your hand.

IWB with a double hook well backed holster (Shielded Holsters, crossbreed, Minotaur, King Tuck...) and a good solid belt (wilderness poly lined Instructor for me).

I carry Glock 17 or 5" 1911

Totally pass with a not too tight fitting T Shirt (I've been carrying these IWB for a few weeks and my wife hasn't noticed yet).

The Glock 17 is harder to hide.

On me, the pistol rides between 3:30- 4:00 and hides around my hip.

I have them at the Max forward cant to hide the grip.

If you lean forward you will print.

If I'm wearing a shorter t-shirt or have to tuck, I go with my MTAC. Otherwise, its a homemade OWB.

As others have said, don't worry about printing. So long as your shirt covers, few, if any, will notice.

Hey do you have any pics of your homemade holster?

Anybody try a cross draw. Maybe wearing about 10:00. Seems like that would be comfortable for getting in & out of a car all day.

I like a Desantis Sof-Tuk for IWB. I use a Bianchi Model 82 Carrylock for OWB. I also have a Blackhawk (Tex ND Special) paddle holster that I use at the range.

Not a cross draw, but appendix carry works well for seated positions, concealment, retention and speed. It's difficult if you are heavy, and you can't tuck a shirt with it, but those are the only two downsideds I've heard and experienced.

M&P full size in a desebiens #4 AIWB.

I use a Blackhawk nylon hip holster for a Glock 27. The G27 is a subcompact but carrying outside the waist is much harder to conceal than inside. I usually where a size up shirt to conceal it. I just don't like the feel of the gun against me so for me its worth the larger size shirt. I also have a Tagua holster which will carry it a little closer to your body, but is still outside the waist.

Great info so far. The pictures do help, Thanks. I tried a uncle mikes soft holster at 1:00- 2:00 its OK but I don't think I could wear like that for a 10 hr day, getting in and out of a car. My donelap is like a space saver spare size. So I'm wondering about cross-draw
