Woot HCP Arrived

Recommended Posts

So my HCP arrived today on Day 19. I'm excited that I don't have to keep watching the mailbox now :)

Anyone else a little overwhelmed by all the holograms? Also, what's with the white strip on the back? Am I supposed to sign it or something? It looks like a bigger version of the white strip on the back of your credit/debit cards.

Hmm. Mine doesn't have a white strip. Just a couple bar codes. Got mine in '08.

mine doesnt have a white strip either...I think you are just speaking about the lower section that is not smooth where nothing was printed on the laminated area...its just blank and rougher than the rest.

TN went with some new design as of 10/29/2010 I believe. It's got like 6 holograms on the front. There's a picture of the state and then it gradually turns into a star going from the bottom left to around the top right and then at the top of the star is the seal of the state of TN. Then there's like a bowtie or some kind of flower near the center of it. Across the top (oddly across the words Tennessee), is the word Tennessee written in some weird text that reads Tennessee across the top and bottom from right to left respectively on both sides. Then from the top left going through towards the bottom center is a musical bar with notes. I mean seriously, there's only like maybe an inch or two on this thing that isn't completely covered by holograms.

My dad's doesn't have one as well and he got his in 09 but this new one has a white strip across the back below the barcode.

Possibly...I dunno. I'll see if I can take a pic of it.

Sure enough:

I seriously wish you could see all the holograms on it...the only parts that don't have holograms are the state flag at the top.

Now I just hope I can find the holster's I want for a good price

My new license that I got is the same way with the new layout/holograms, etc., but my permit which I got last year is the old style. You are correct, I am not sure the date but they did make a transition to a new design on TN's IDs. Wish mine matched >_< (if my OCD kicks in bad enough I might pay the $20 for a replacement to be made and shred my old one).

Have you planned for or completed the obligatory Wally Walk?

lol I have not...I've been thinking about that all this time. Unfortunately, the holster (Galco Kingtuk) that I ordered still hasn't arrived but the moment it does, you betcha I'll be doing the Wally Walk :screwy:

Bah...that's $20...that's a box of ammo :D Speaking of which. The Walmart over here on Clinton Hwy has 223 ammo for a decent price. 100 rounds for $27.76 (including all taxes) but it's the TulAmmo brand. They have another brand (American Eagle or something like that) that's $1 more per box.

The Wally Walk was officially amazing. Apparently even with my normal tshirts on, my friend couldn't even tell that my gun was on me. I enjoyed it immensely. I think I'll carry everywhere I can from now on.

Congrats on the permit, but Who cares what the permit looks like, cram it in your wallet and let it do what its supposed to do, allow you to carry.
