Customizing Colt Defender

Recommended Posts

Ok, so i just got my Colt Defender .45 100 years of service model, this is gonna be my everyday carry so i wanna go crazy with the customizations.. If you have any ideas for grips, sights, and just general things I can have done to make this thing one of a kind please let me know.. I'm kinda new to all of this stuff but I wanna learn as much as possible so any advice would be great.. If you have a custom defender please post some pics, also would like to know of some good holsters and where to buy.. thanks in advance for your help...icon6.png

Its a very nice gun; I am torn on this one or a couple of similar models and may yet get one. If I got the defender (I prefer new agent, same frame, different details) I would put new agent grips on it for carry, or keep those rubber ones on it for a target gun. I would get low profile/no snag sights, but I plan to pocket carry mine. Other forms of carry, with the right holster, the original sights are probably OK but they are too snaggy for pocketz. I couldnt comment on a regular holster but the ramorra pocket holsters are great as they stick to the pocket and the gun pulls free easily.

I am pretty sure (99%) the NA grips would fit it. Probably can find that out online. Trench sights are good and bad... they sorta suck, but they do not snag, and they are fine for defense though not exactly great for target pistols. When pushing the boarder of what you can stuff into a pocket, big sights are the last straw :2cents:

I love my Defender , I have looked everywhere for grips but keep coming back to my originals. Now that I have my G 30sf I am in transition from skinny to fat ; locked down , to not ; wondering if I will look for the safety or not ; I guess if I need to pull it , it just won't matter , somebody is going down.
