I've always turned to glock and or hk for my polymer fix, but a lot of guys I talk to who know a lot more about guns than I do, say the xd is the best polymer around.

The grip safety was actually one of the pluses when I originally chose the XD subbie over the Glock26 for EDC.

My buddy has the subcompact XD9 and I shot it back to back with my G26 a few weeks ago. I really like the XD but the Glock just feels more balanced. Like the XD was top heavy or something. Anyway, the grip safety just scares me. Like something extra to go wrong. Guess I'm just paranoid.

Glad you like your XD. I have the XD-45 and XDm-40. I also have a couple of Glocks. To me. The XD triggers are mo betta. Although neither Glock nor XDs are known for their triggers. My XDs have never failed.

I have an xd40 and the holster that comes with them is junk. I use a blackhawk serpa restraint holster that i am very happy with. You can pick them up about anywhere for around $40.
