Regal Providence Theatre Mt. Juliet

For the first time in 5 months, my favorite theatre and alot of other people's I assume, they are NOT posted on their entrance doors, exits, side exits, or inside, BUT on the side of the outside box office window, there is a 8x11 sheet of paper with Regal's regulations in about 10 size font and a tiny little gunbuster that says "NO CONCEALED WEAPONS ALLOWED." If i am not mistaken, you must post on all entrances that are accessible by the public, I believe exits as well. If someone can clarify that will be great!!

I do not believe they are enforcing this ban at this theatre but possibly a Regal corporate rule. I have never been stopped or looked at or questioned/asked to leave and I carry a FULL SIZE 1911 everday, everytime I go there.

Next thing you know someone on here is going to feel that they have the duty to tell them that their posting isn't legal, and how to post legally. ;)

Regal Entertainment Group is a Knoxville based company. While I expect their insurance dictates their position on weapons, their counsel has been suprisingly conciliatory on a couple of other issues people have complained about over the years.

It might be worth a few people writing letters not to protest their "non-legal signage", but to question their rationale behind the issue.

My wife and I have been going to that theater for several years and I've never seen a prohibitive sign. If I have to read their windows like back pages of the paper I'll stay away. We rarely go anyway now days,so until a big ol' gun buster sign at the ticket booth and door gets in my face. I stand uninformed.

I just don't get the need to go to a movie theater... Just wait 6 months, and rent the movie on DVD and watch it in the comfort and security of your own home at a fraction of the cost. Take the saved money and spend it on more range time ;)

Improper signage my be there to cover them and yet NOT exclude carrying.

Sometimes when one demands a clear ruling the answer is NOT what one wants to hear.

So let's not force them to answer.

Ambiguity in posting may be more of a friend than many realize.

I consider improper posting as the business giving tacit approval of carrying concealed while allowing the bedwetters to feel better about themselves.
