Howdy my name is Chuck, I am just an ol beat up cowboy who moved to Tennessee in April of 1989 from south Florida, I was raised in the swamps of the Everglades. I am 56 now and stove up from the rodeo-en I did back when I was younger, I rode bulls n bareback horses, I high school rodeo-ed in Okeechobee Florida and after that I went on to rodeo school at Hazeleafe Rodeo School then I pro rodeo-ed for about 14 years after that, and the older I got the harder the ground got so it was time to give it up and now I am payin for it, all the broke bones and aurther as set in if ya know what I mean LOL. The way I see it is this world has gone crazy and at the end of September here in Dunlap is the next class to get qualified and I am going to be setting in the front row!! and after that straight to the DMV. I love to shoot and always have, that's the way I was brought up, I have my 45 ACP,that I love to shoot and not bragging im pretty darn good with it, my wife has her little 380, and I have the first gun my Dad had when he was a kid and he gave it to me when I was 10 years old it is a little 22 Springfield rifle that needs a new bolt for it and maybe someone on here can help me come up with one for it cause I want to give it to my son who is now 31. Well enough about me but if there is a gunsmith on here or someone with knowledge about old Springfield rifles I sure would like to hook up with them and find a new bolt for it please contact me through here. Thanks a bunch Chuck

Welcome to the forum Chuck, I can't help ya with your .22 issue but I'm sure there will be someone who can get you into the right direction. That is an awesome story about your dad giving you his gun and then you passing it along. I have some family treasures of my own that I look forward to passing to my sons. Good luck on you HCP class!

Welcome! As for the Springfield bolt Google is your friend. There are lots of listings for shops advertising hard to find parts. Good luck.

welcome! As was said, you can find parts online or take it to a smith who will find them for you, install it, and make sure everything is working, depends on how comfortable you are about it and whether the part needs to be fitted to the gun (a bolt, probably just pops right in) and so on. I hope you can find what you need to get it working!

Welcome Chuck, I'm new myself but this seems like the place to be. My son rides bulls in the high school and some local circuits. I can tell you I know what you went through, lots of long nights and road miles. He loves doing it so I guess we'll continue for awhile. Dunlap is a beautiful area, nice valley to visit.
