I think this is a very worthwhile endeavor.

While textbooks are great for learning, this is another marvelous tool to help educate children and adults alike of those times and eras.

I am sure that the newspapers are just a skewed as our today, but they will have quotes and day to day accounts of what happened.

By making them available in digital media, you are opening the door to millions, where as if you had only one copy of a surviving paper, you would be limited to who and how it could be used.

I work in preservation and archives, and this project is absolutely amazing. By digitizing the newspapers the accessibility of the material increases, which is not only beneficial in the academy, but also for the masses in general.

Through my own research in the archives, I have been able to access many of the newspapers that are digitized. Reading the newspapers allows for a greater cultural understanding of events as they took place, versus just reading a historian’s view of what he “thought†took place.

It is a great resource!
