Anybody know of anyplace in Knoxville that currently has any ammo cans? Greene's and Cherokee are both out. Thanks.

Bit of a drive, but smoky mountain knife works usually has 30 cal cans sitting around among other things (at least the last time I went), might want to give them a call before heading that way if you really want some now. I think I saw some cans at gander mountain as well, but can't say with 100% certainty.

Thanks for the heads up about Knife Works. I checked Gander too, all they have are the plastic kind.

Ok so I wasn't crazy that I saw some, I just briefly made a note and didn't look closely at them/open them or anything. Pretty sure the ones at knife works were metal as I recall handling one.

Northern Tool on Clinton Highway sometimes has 50 cal cans.

There is also a gun show this weekend at the Expo.

Thanks for the info. I just called Smoky Mountain Knife Works and they said they have a few 5.56 cans. If that doesn't work out I may just have to hit the gun show.

Last time I was up that way Frontier had a stack of them, kind of pricey but they had some.

That's right they do. They had quite a few when I was there a couple weeks ago. I'll swing by there too.

If you want to make a drive down to Chattanooga, Shooters Depot has some.

Cherokee Military Surplus up on Broadway.

Thanks, somehow I never heard of it or noticed it. Then again, I've only been here since 1966.

Gander Mtn has the metal cans. I've seen them on several occasions but never looked at the price.

They used to before they redid the gun dept. All they have are plastic ones now. At least the guy I asked said so.

I checked Smoky Mountain Knife Works, they have tons of 50 Cal and 5.56 cans but I'm really looking for 30 Cal ones which seems to be in short supply these days. Same goes for Frontier. Only 50s.

hmmm, how long ago was this. I remember seeing them not that long ago. When did they revamp the gun dept.?

Maybe a month ago. All guns are behind the counter now. You can't just walk up and fondle the long guns like before. Seems like they carry more accessories now (at twice normal price of course).
