I was wonder if I could get some input on this from ya'll. I noticed this today as was cleaning my wife's 642. I know that it's had around 50 rounds through it. Does this appear to be a headache waiting to happen? I appreciate any input you guys can throw at me.

Well the first thing I noticed as being wrong when I read the post was that you said "you" were cleaning your wife's gun. You need to make her clean her own gun. :)

Regarding your question on the picture, I think that's normal. Both of the 642's my wife and I own have the same look. I believe it happens during the process of the barrel being screwed into the frame and tightened to the correct vertical position.

whew. I was like "waahhh?" TrekBike, I whole heartedly agree with you, however, I've yet to find skill or art to be able to "make" my wife do anything. Thanks for setting my mind at ease, guys.

Oh, I'm not saying that I've found a way either, lol. I just happen to have a wife that wants to be more self-sufficient as we get older, so she wants to clean her own guns.
