I know I can't be the only one that does this

I don't own any thing in 45 ACP. I've never owned anything in 45 ACP. Today at the gun show I bought some 230gr bullets and large pistol primers. I have a ton of brass that I've collected over the years.

I do fully intend on owning a pistol in 45; I just haven't decided on what yet. I missed a deal on a Sig 220 a while back that I'm still kicking myself about.

So, am I totally crazy for buying stuff for a caliber I don't own?

I had 223 brass, bullets, dies, and loaded ammo for years while not having a rifle chambered for it. I've since rectified that situation. I'd buy a bunch of 303 Savage ammo today if I found a deal on it. I don't have one of those either......yet.:D

Not if you intend on purchasing a firearm in that caliber. I have been keeping my eye on .300WSM brass for several months now, anticipating a future rifle purchase.

I have about 40 different calibers of reloading dies...Eventually I come across a trade or buy that will require I use them.

No telling how many calibers of brass are boxed up.

Buy or scrounge enough ammo for a gun you don't have . . . then tell your spouse you must purchase a gun of that caliber out of sheer economy! Discuss this over a meal together in a nice restaurant, and be prepared to go shopping for a pair of women's shoes afterwards!

I pick up most brass that I find at the range whether I have a gun in the caliber or not. For example, I picked up some 10mm brass today. I sort it, tumble it, then use it for trading. Works for me.

I'm certain there are 12 step programs for people with your condition.

I believe some women buy baby clothes when they are -3 months pregnant. If you're buying ammo for a gun caliber you don't own . . . you're expecting!

I pick up and keep brass from the range for calibers I don't have. I've got a gallon baggie stuffed full of .40, and another of .45. "One day", I'll own a .45, and someone will need the .40. My son has a .40 and I'm thinking that at some time he'll want to reload. So, I just keep collecting and saving.
