Thaddeus McCotter - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Have seen this guy speak on CSPAN a couple times and also as a guest on RedEye. He appears bright and doesn't take himself too seriously. Little or none stuffed shirt syndrome as far as I can tell. About the only policy I know that would disagree about, was his ardent support for the Iraq war. In addition he is yet another lawyer turned politician. Nobody's perfect.

Thaddeus has at least as good chance of winning as Basil Marceaux. Thaddeus is one of the few contenders who does not trigger my instictive instant dislike or distrust. Which has little meaning except that it feels bad voting for politicians who DO trigger an instant dislike/distrust.

Well, he IS a politician, and I don't know that his Michigan constituents (I used to be one) would vote for him. He's trying to make a life out of politics and I think that he ought to try to live under the laws that he's been helping pass. I think he has an ice cube's chance of being nominated so it's safe to ignore him. The only way that I would vote for him was if his only opponent was the Emperor Obamey.

He is indeed a total hoot on RedEye, self-deprecating, sardonic, very Ambrose Bierce like in his inside DC descriptions. That's really all I know about him, but on that basis, I really do like him.
