Does anyone have any experience with Hogue AR-15 pistol grips? What about the handguards? They feel great, but how are they when they're mounted? (fit and function)

I have two with the pistol grips on them. I like them. They seem to fill the hand better to me when the standard grip feels too skinny.

I have small hands. After 35 years of shooting AR's I have always thought the pistol grips and handguards could have been done better. I have a ERGO grip on it's way to try on a new build.

R1100R,

Thanks for the reply. I have always wanted to get one when I bought my AR. I finally picked one up today. I'll put them on soon. I tried a grip on one of my Sigs but the backstrap didn't close completely and was exposing the spring. I was wondering if the fit seemed good on the AR-15. Not too much to mess up there I guess. Knowing you are a repeat buyer gives me peace of mind.

I have a Hogue on one AR, and an Ergo grip on my other AR. I like them both, but for the money, I think the Hogue is the better of the two as far as overall feel.

I think the Hogue is the best grip out there for me. But for a rifle that will see heavy duty, I think the plastic grips will hold up better. For a light duty/range gun, you cannot beat the hogue.

Shot the gun a few times since I sarted this and love 'em. I had put a grip on my Sig a while ago and was not impressed. The backstrap didn't seal and the mainspring was exposed. Tried another one on it and the same thing happened. Love the AR grip, though.
