Prepping brass for the scrap yard ?

Just curious,

When selling surplus spent brass to a scrap yard, do you normally have to deprime it ?

No. Just make sure there is no metal or aluminum. If they spot even one piece of either they will ask you to resort it. It's worth double or triple the scrap price if you sort it and sell it here or on Craigslist. Can be a pain to sort, but I found the sorting pans online that make it much easier.

Around here the scrap yards won't even buy it. Don't matter if its deprimed or not. They say they've not been buying since 9/11.
