Almost there... my first custom 1911!

Just a few more thoughts, after reading the entire thread - First, congrats to "durtyzulu" on your first custom 1911. Every lover of 1911s dreams of having a pistol built "just for him". I know you're excited and you should be. You picked the right man for the job and I know you will have a pistol you will treasure. Second if one poster had an issue with work performed by Chad, he should have expressed his concern to him at the time. Chad has been attempting to work on all of our guns, inspite of just having his third shoulder surgery. Yes, it slowed him down, but in no way did it affect his passion, quality or character. If there was a legitimate issue, Chad would have made it right. That's the kind of man he is. No, I'm not a relative of Chad's, but rather a very satisfied customer, who has know him for a long time. In life, a man really just has three things - His FAMILY, His REPUTATION and his WORD. Chad stands behind all three and I'm proud to call him a friend !

So, let's be fair here and give the man a chance. And in the mean time, lets all share "durtyzulu's" excitement and not dampen it by posting unfair assessments of a top-notch gun builder and more important, one hell of a good man !

WOW...........Hard to believe all this started because durtyzulu was excited about getting his first Custom 1911.

Way to go Friend, Cant wait to see Pics and heear a range report. My daughter Graduates from UT next year. Planning a Graduation Present to ME and a Custom 1911 is on my short list.

What has been said by the "illposted" has been sufficiently addressed, I believe, so I will leave that alone.

Most importantly, I can't wait for you to get it in your hands and start throwing lead down range. I will rub one thing in though. As much time as I spend with Chad, who I am proud to call friend, I will see your pistol before you do, HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!. Seriously, I won't go to anyone else for work, especially with 1911s. No doubt about it. He is "The One" as far as I am concerned. Have no worries. Your pistol will be 1911 Perfection. It will meet and exceed the claims of any other manufacturer without exception.
