I'm new to TGO, thanks for a great site!<BR>I live in Chattanooga and have 3 boys ages 11-15 that are current/future 2nd Amendment backers and boys who will carry on the tradition of hunting as they become men. We have to multiply ourselves to ensure that our rights continue

I wanted to ask a question about where one can go to sight in/shoot shotgun slugs near Chattanooga but didn't know exactly on which forum subsection I needed to place that thread. Could anyone provide assistance?

If this is a suitable place to ask my question then does anyone know where someone can go to sight in and shoot shotguns set up to shoot rifled slugs in the Chattanooga area? The only range that I know of is the Prentice Cooper WMA but they don't allow shotguns (although I wonder if they mean using shot and not slugs).

Welcome to TGO! Hang on. In a little while you'll probably get an invitation from one of the guys

around Chattanooga to go shooting and solve that dilemma.

You can do this at the prentice cooper range, on signal mountain, google it for directions. It can be rowdy up there, its not manned so go at your own risk. If you can find a friend, the chattanooga and cleveland clubs have great facilitys. I would be happy to take you to the cleveland range as a guest but its a bit of a drive (esp with kids, R we there yet?) so you probably want something closer. I am not a member of the chattanooga one. You may also get an offer from someone who has some property on the outskirts of town, there are plenty of people out of the city with private land suitable for shooting moderate distances. Yes, the limitation on shotguns is they do not want you to destroy the target boards with birdshot. A shotgun slug is OK.
