cover garments...ohh...I can go buy one of Lens ninja vests :-)

Actually, the ninija vest (5.11) is quite useful in IDPA. I wear one quite a bit in competition. It serves as a good duplicate of what I wear on the street, the multiple pockets are handy for storing extra mags, timer, scoresheets, etc., and it's nice to have one garment that I don't mind caking with lead dust, getting muddy, etc. I have worn it in public a couple times, usually when I'm making a stop on the way home from a match.

You know...it's not enough that he places first in his own tournament, now he's gotta go around with this attitude, someone needs to take this guy down a peg or two. Or make fun of his revolver (that he beat us all with)

:D

I was just picking on Len...but I'll be picking one up this week :-) It does seem almost perfect for IDPA and training classes.

i was thinkin last night, yall tell me what you think or if it would cause trouble with the rso's at a match on your cover garment how about a big inside pocket on your off side (for me it would be left) so when you have to retain a mag you open vest with weak hand, hit ur mag release and let the mag fall into the catch pocket on the inside while you are pulling your fresh mag

my thought on this is it saves a little time and keeps you from having to fool with retaining a mag in your hand while loading a fresh and pocketing the old what do yall think im i nuts or does this sound like its worth a try

I don't THINK it would be a issue...but your aim with the mag would have to be right on. i think it would easier to strip the mag out with your weak hand, and toss it into that big open pocket. If you missed dropping the mag out of the gun, you'd be slowed down having to stop and pick it up...like I did last time...I think twice. I have got to stop practicing letting the mag drop to the floor empty on the range.

right, and dropping a mag with ammo in it is grounds for a procedural. better i think to put it were it needs to be.

Strictly speaking, no. Dropping the mag with ammo AND leaving it there while you go on is a procedural. If you pick it up in situ you are fine.

Thank you. Obviously deerslayer is a man of taste and refinement! ^_^

+1 on the utility of a vest. This is exactly what I bought mine for. Lots of pockets for mags, scoresheet, pen, target pasters, cell phone, wallet, candy (that'd be smokes for Dunndw and Recoveryman), etc.

Got mine at LA Police Gear. Have always had good experiences with them, and they had a sale. (Did not know about local options when I got it.)
