I spoke to Dennis last night, the club president.

We are all set to go for Sunday.

Just to recap:

The shoot is at the range on the grounds of JMR Gunsmithing on Brush Creek Rd in Brush Creek. Directions are I40E (from Nashville) to Alexandria exit (20 min past Lebanon), turn right off the ramp and head to Alexandria. After 4 miles there will be an intersection with a big white sign for JMR Gunsmithing. Turn left at the sign. JMR will be 1/4mi on the right. Follow the road all the way down to the range.

Shoot starts at 1:00PM. Arrive a little early to fill out the waivers etc and for the safety meeting.

Equipment is handgun, 3 magazines (2 speedloaders), eye/ear protection, holster, cover garment, about 100 rounds of ammo.

We will shoot 4 stages, max 18 rounds each.

Range is "cold" which means no ammo loaded in guns at any time. You can have loaded mags/speedloaders but not in the gun. Don't take your gun out to look at it/show it, etc except in the designated safe area.

Dont do anything stupid that will get you DQ'd. Do have fun and enjoy the shoot.

I am looking forward to it.

Will this happen rain or shine?

Hmph, now they're calling for rain on Sunday.

It's 50/50 whether I'll be able to make it, at this point... I want to if the weather holds off. But if it looks like rain, since that'll prevent the match, I wouldn't make the drive.

I borrowed the 1911. I have two mags, no holster, no mag holder for it. Ill hope someone takes pity on me so I can shoot with that and my g19. Please hold off rain god, I take back all those things I said about you.

40% chance of rain. If we don't have the match...can we shoot anyway :-)

Forecasters in Nashville make economists look reliable.

If it is dry enough to shoot then we'll shoot. If it isnt, then it wont be dry enough period.

HEH...They're saying around noon it'll dry out. I'm there. I've got a raincoat

Don't remember if I said it or not...but thanks Rabbi for getting this up.

Anyone from the Smyrna or Murfreesboro area want to car pool? I am willing to drive or ride.

I just realized this is this Sunday and I am a bachelor this weekend. I have two 1911 type guns but no carry holster for either one. I have a full size with only one magazine. I have a officers sized with two 7 round and one 6 round mag. I have yet to invest in holsters for the 1911's since my carry gun is a short barrel j frame with a paddle holster.

If someone happens to have a RH paddle or belt holster for a officers model sized 1911 and a two mag holder they would be willing to let me borrow (or buy if you want to sell) please let me know.

I would certainly like to give this a try.

I might have a yaqui slide to fit that.

If you dont have all the equipment, bring what you got. You really dont need a mag holder, just stash them in your pocket.

THe idea of this was not to enforce a bunch of rules but to let people have fun shooting what they got.

Yeah if this weather looks like it is clearing Mid morning I will head out. I figured I could toss the spare mags in the back pocket and go with that. Holders would be nice but not 100% necessary.

Hope to see some of you Sunday. Still willing to carpool if someone PM's me before 9am.

Rabbi,

If I am back from an out of state trip I will be there to help.

I'm a IDPA SO.

Uncle Sam still has me somewhere else (an undisclosed location) and I won't be able to make it. ;)

Ya have great time, wish I could be there.

The group. I dont know everyone's handle on the board, so fill it in yourself if you want. That's me on The Rabbi's left (very appropriate, actually!)
