We stayed at the Grand once, probably 20 years ago. It was during an F100 meet. Was nice then. But have heard from some car guys that it's gotten pretty bad there in the last few years.

you really need to go there and walk into the office, ask to see a room before booking. Not to be racist but certain races of hotel operators have lower standards. Just saying, seen it a lot with my own eyes.

Another List we don't need to be on.

I stayed at this place last year in 2010, it had a bad smell.

I slept on top of my sleeping bag.

I tend to stay away from motels that use neon lights for general lighting. :P

That place looks like its a perfect setting for either a Slasher Movie or a local police sting. lol

Did the prostitute already have the room or did you have to rent it yourself?

It was a hunting trip and I would have rather slept in the truck or in my sleeping bag like I had planned. Dad wanted to sleep in a bed and well we slept on bed as we decided not to get in the beds.

I will give a Hint on that Motel/Inn.

Someone famous from the Grand Ole Opry is from near by.

20 years ago, during Deer season you could not get a room, they were booked a year in advance.

Last year dad and I took a trip down there and the deer were so thin we left after scouting. We saw a few on some posted land as we drove by.

Dad though the guns would be fine in the truck over night, I over ruled him and said Hell No, they are coming in, if only for self defense.

We were the only customers that night.

I stayed at the Grand hotel when I was younger. I remember fly traps hanging from the ceiling(I commend them for pest control lol.) But we woke up and crawdads were in the sink..

Used to deliver at the Grand a lot. Nice enough lobby and convention hall.

Never seen a room, sounds like I wouldn't want to.

Went to the Smoky Mountain F-100 Run a few years back. Lots of fun. It's a newer show, but had a good time. I reckon I should try and go to another one.

Stayed at the Smoky Shadows then. Don't recall much about it. Long story short, rolled in at 2:00 AM and was up again not long after to start the day. Krispy Kreme was almost right across the street, had fair coffee.

did that once at a name brand hotel around Columbia SC years back. The hotel looked nice, but there was freaking DNA all over the carpet. It was like someone stood on the dresser and peed all over the place.

I kept my shoes on the entire time.

...named patel which means inn keeper

Myth. Patel is simply the second most common Indian name. Like Smith or Jones.

It's just that Indians own about 50% of US motels/hotels, and a third of them are named Patel.
