Not everyone's a gunslinger like you Jaime.

I'm far from being a "gunslinger", Bkelm18. I've just spent most of my life with firearms, and some time in law enforcement.

Um... Marswolf? I spent two and a half years working the night shift with the local S.O.

And I've been shot at more than once.

Edit: One other thing... How do you rack the slide on a 1911 with the safety on?

( Yes, this is a trick question )

I wasn't trying to insult you Jamie and you are quite correct about racking the slide with the 1911 in safe condition. But I think you understand my point.

I refused to wear a 1911 in Vietnam.

Maybe they are following Smith & Wesson’s lead and letting a user decided what is best for them; and have it their way.

There are reasons for manual safeties and there are reasons for magazine disconnects. If you can have it either way there is no need to argue.
