New Server Report Card

It appears that essentially all of the various Internet Service Providers (Comcast, Charter, AOL, etc.) have updated their DNS records for TGO and are now pointing our members to the new server. That said, I would like to open this thread to serve as a "Report Card" of sorts on the new server. Primarily I'm interested in hearing your impressions of:

• Page loading speeds
  
• Any delays or errors
  
• Timeouts
  

There are some features that may still not be working 100% for 100% of our members. Features such as email alerts, for example. Email is a tricky beast that most people just sort of take for granted and assume it will always work. Unfortunately despite our best efforts some ISPs continue to block our forum's opt-in automatic alerts and consider them to be spam. Not because of TGO necessarily, but because of the thousands of forums out there running vBulletin sending those same emails.

To a spam filter, the same email coming from countless domains looks like spam. So there really may not be anything we can do about that.

But besides email, what are your impressions?

From a guy who can recognize a computer 2 out of 3 times (an electric typewriter next to a TV fools me every time!) it seems to be working fine. Loads fast, opens threads quickly, and "back" works fast. I'm on Charter (ugh!) if that means anything to you. Thanks to you and the mods for doing a great job maintaining this site.

My ISP is AT&T DSL, and everything seems to be working fine for the most part. No errors or timeouts.

However, page load times seem a bit longer since the move. Clicking on a link, I get the "rotating ring" in Windows 7 for several seconds, then the page will come up. The page loads quickly at that point, but the delay between clicking on it and the page load seems to be running longer than before. I hope that made sense.

It does make sense and it's because I'm doing some work behind the scenes today again. Performance today may not be indicative of the norm.
