Picked up my new Mossberg Tactical 22 yesturday. I am impressed with the appearance of it, considering the cost. Not only will I have not spent much for it but the economy of shooting it will be a real plus.

That's neat. I didn't even know Mossberg made those. When I hear Mossberg, I always think of shotguns.

How many rounds does the mag hold?

Thanks! The mag holds 25 rounds. That large bottom to the mag simply gives it an AR look then it transforms into a normal 22 mag as it goes up into the magwell. Kinda funny looking. The action and the barrel is the Mossberg Plinkster 22 that has been made for years, so it is a tried and true weapon with a new housing.

I was actually fondling one of those yesterday at bass pro. Love the collapsable stock, and tacticool look. Plus, it is a Plinkster! Congrats man!

Took it to the range today and I'll give it a thumbs up. I don't ordinarily fire a new gun before I clean it but in this case I did. I got the irons, scope and laser zeroed in and then put an additional 150 rounds through it no issues at all with the accuracy or functions. The only problem I see with it is the rear sight. Although I called it "iron sight" it is actually a plastic peep and the elevation knob is extremely loose and would in no way retain it adjustment. This can be corrected, so it's not a big deal. I removed the red dot and replaced it with a 3x9 scope for better accuracy. All in all it's a good little weapon and a lot of fun to shoot.

i have a 702 plinkster for my "first time shooter friends." if it based off this it will be a reliable and relatively accurate gun through thousands of rounds.

Yes Parrothead, it is the 702 plinkster barrel and action dressed in an AR shroud. This was my primary motivation for getting it, for I considered it a tried and true base for this new gun.
