I have so many AR-15 spares I've decide to do another build, I have an upper receiver, and buying a Aero Precision stripped lower from Lebanon Gun Shop but I need a budget barrel, 16" M4 profile, chromed lined, mid length gas system so I'm asking the TGO friends if you have seen any budget barrels? This will be a truck/car gun to beat around with, any suggestions? Thanks!!!!! COOP

I have three del tons and they are flawless. They were one of the few companies that did not screw people over before the 2008 election. Prices have been constant. They have excellent customer service.

I bought this for my wife's rifle:

RifleGear - Daniel Defense Chrome Lined Barrel, 16" MidLength Stripped

But I'm planning to buy this for myself:

Del-Ton, Inc. AR-15 16" Mid Length Pre-Ban Barrel

Now, those are the best prices I've seen.... Maybe someone else will sound off.

If those don't tickle your fancy, have a go at www.gunbroker.com or ar15.com's Equipment Exchange...

You can't go wrong with either of those. I like the DD!

The DD model currently resides on my wife's build. I've been considering getting some fluting done on it to reduce the weight (not at all heavy, but I shot a fluted AR with the same kind of barrel and it was oh-so-light )

Hey all, thanks for the replies and now I'm thinking about a carbine length for a build that will be going to a friend of mine, it will be his first AR!!!! I have everything but a barrel so I'm looking at a cheap light weight barrel on Midway for $149 but will need the gas tube, delta ring, compression rings and retaining ring. I wish I could find a kit that would come with all parts except the upper receiver and hand guard? Thanks again!!!!! COOP

I have a Del-Ton Mid-Length 16" Heavy Barrel

Chrome Lined

1/7 Twist

Only have 40 test rounds through it, so I can't say about the accuracy.

I haven't had any problems, I wish the phosphate coating was a little thicker.

Not that I've had any problem, but my Bushmaster and Colt had a thicker coatings.
