What can I expect to get for my Taurus 1911 if I try to sell it to a shop? Privately? or at a gun show?

a shop or to a dealer at a show you are lucky to get blue book value which is roughly 85% of what THEY can buy the gun for new from their supplier. Or, in short, about 60% of what you paid for it new. Ouch! Meanwhile, if you sell to an individual you can get close to your money back ... I would by a like new gun for about the going sticker price of the same gun, new --- I get to save 10% in sales tax and the background tax ($10) and possibly a FFL fee if I had to order it or transfer it, etc. so my actual savings are good enough and everyone wins this way.

Mods, you can delete this thread if you need to. Didn't read the sticky until now.

I would say $ 450 is what they can buy one new for so about anything under that. 450 for private party sell is what I have seen them for in like new shape.
