Robber pulls a Glock

I found it interesting that the description of the robber tells me only that the culprit was a man and that he wore a shirt although the victim was apparently observant enough to be able to identify the manufacturer of the robber's handgun.

Oh I don't know taking somebody's wallet, purse, car keys, car, or jewerly...

I think history has shown that it need not be a plastic or even a black pistol for a witness to claim an assailant pulled a Glock on them. Some witnesses have even said the assailant had a Glock revolver. In fact, in Tennessee more Ruger semis are confiscated from criminals than any other brand name.

All long guns seem to be either a shotgun or an AK47. Very seldom is it found any type of so-called assault weapon at all was used. Often times what was called a shotgun turned out to be a bb gun or .22. It goes to show I guess that; 1. Witnesses are often horribly unreliable, especially in identifying weapons of an assailant, 2. Any size bore of weapon when pointed at you likely looks mighty large indeed.

I think that it's amazing that they ask for the public's help in identifying the robber, but the only description we have is 'a man'. How about some specifics? So, we are supposed to look for a tall, short, fat, skinny, bowlegged, pigeon-toed, bald, long-haired, bearded, clean-shaven, Asian, African, white, Hispanic dude who is either wearing any kind of clothes imaginable or naked? And if he had clothes on, 'he' might be cross-dressing 'she'. That really narrows down the list of suspects!

I think I saw that guy, it looks allot like the person collecting evidence at the scene. He had a Glock.

A man carrying a Glock under his shirt and driving a Gold Dodge Stratus. The right person reads that or the right person gets busted on a traffic charge and doesn’t want to go to jail, and that guy may find himself in jail. Since she gave the make and model of the car and the manufacturer of the gun; I’ll bet she gave a more detailed description of him.

But the reporter isn’t really interested in whether or not you call Knoxville Police now are they?
