SWEET gun safe deal at Wal Mart in Hermitage

For the past few weeks I have been looking at gun safes. I wanted one that was cheap but not flimsy, and that would hold around 9-10 rifles. Well I had been looking at one at Wal Mart that was $229 for a few weeks. After getting my AR that really sealed the deal that I was going to buy a safe.

Anyways, I made up my mind that I was going to buy one, so I walk in there tonight and to my delight, they had marked it down to $89!!! So I talked to the guy at the counter and asked if I could pay now and come pick it up in a few minutes. I did just that and they had brought a new one in the cardboard out for me from the back, so obviously they still have some of these around or at least the floor model is still left. It's back in the sporting goods section fastened to a pole right next to the sporting goods counter.

Now, this isn't a mack daddy, bells and whistles, or even fireproof safe, but for theft protection which is a much larger possibility than fire, this would be a good safe for a small collection. Or hell, buy two. I have five rifles in there, ammo, magazines, three handguns, and room for a few more rifles, a couple more handguns, and a bunch more ammo. It bolts to the floor which I have already done using lag bolts and huge washers so there's not much of a chance of ripping it off.

When I get $6-700 I will buy a bigger fireproof safe, but for now I am happy with this one.
