This morning I randomly went to look at guns, left my fullsize M&P 40 with the store and walked out with a brand new XD 45 compact. :screwy:

Thanks...I cant wait to shoot it. It probably wasnt the most practical gun for a carry gun (for concealment) but def seems a hair lighter and smaller than the full size m&p I was gonna try.

What exactly do you consider the upgrade?

Posted

i consider the upgrade a few things.

caliber

a completely brand new gun that I know the status of

one that i feel more comfortable holding in my hand

lighter

a tiny bit smaller in size

and one that I feel better with the safety features.

Thats the upgrades I consider.

again, like all things in the gun world......most things are opinionated. You have fans / non-fans, etc....its mainly a matter of what works best for the consumer.

I carry an xd45 compact. Conceals well enough, doesn't put holes in my shirt and goes bang every time I tell it to.

you were waiting on a holster to be delivered, do you have to get another one now that will fit your XD?

yes..crossbreed has been contacted before they send it out.

I shot it today along with my gf. we both liked shooting it much better than the m&p.

That’s all that counts.

:)

Caliber - whatever.

What status didn't you know about the M&P?

Okay, those I can see.

Always like new toys. No need other than wanting a new toy is needed.

A used gun that I know nothing about it's past.

I finally got my crossbreed in for it....I like it...I have to figure out my perfect cant and whatnot, but it seems fairly comfortable for it to not even be broken in yet.

Did it go bang when you pulled the trigger?

As far as caliber, several gun savvy ER docs I know can't tell the difference between the damage a 9mm causes and a .45. It really doesnt make a whole hell of a lot of difference. But if it makes you feel better...
