Great!

I haven't purchased any guns from Aim, but am more than pleased with their accessories and ammo.

When it arrives, don't forget: pictures!

How long did it take for you to get your license? They recieved my application on Fri and cashed the check today. Hopefully that's a good sign for a quick turn around.

edit - I just saw your other thread saying that it took 46 days. That's an eternity when you're just sittin and waitin.

If you're buying it from a dealer and it's not old enough to be antique. This is assuming you don't have your C&R.

I think "antique" is considered 45 years or older. So it seems, that anything made before 1966 is considered an antique? My gun shop is closed today, so I'll just call them tomorrow. I have one in very, very nice condition I bought for peanuts at a yard sale. It has an octagonal reciever, and is stamped 1928. I am wanting another one and was just curious if a 10.00 fee was required.

Antique is actually defined as 1898 or earlier...regular ATF purchasing rules do not apply. C&R status is automatic for anything over 50 years old. If you find a Mosin with an 1898 receiver then nothing more is required then handing over the cash and taking home the rife.

Otherwise all Mosins are C&R eligible. If you have the license then you should be able to save $10, based on the seller's mood.

Just left Farnsworth's in Vonore 149 for round receiver, 159 for hex. None of the guys ever remember having them for 89.00. I'm all for shopping local, but not for double the price of online sellers.

I think year is most important. During WWII years they were cranking them out. I had a '42 91/30 and the machining was horrible. Prior to and after, they quality seems better. My nicest one is actually a "round", 1948 M44. The machine work and bluing is fantastic.
