Source for railroad ties near Knoxville?

I am looking for a source of railroad ties in the Knoxville area. Rail Road Salvage sells them but are a bit pricey to me at $9 each. Looking for another source that might be a bit cheaper. Home Depot no longer sells them.

If anyone knows another source I haven;t thought about please let me know. I am needing about 20 or so ties to build a backstop on my property.

TSC or the farmers co-op might have them, though I doubt you'll find them for less than $9ea.

FWIW, the salvaged ties are generally in poor shape. Plan to do a lot of sorting to find decent ones. I wouldn't use them to build anything that required significant structure (ie, a retaining wall). New ties are available, but VERY expensive.

Last I looked, the co-op here has pieces of telephone poles in various size/lengths.

These guys have bridge ties...switch ties...real dirt...tieplates...spikes... Tiebolts and washers. They have unused, firsts, seconds, thirds, curved(warped) Used in all categories.

Home Depot in Morristown has a boat load of them. I saw them Sunday morning, didn't pay any attention to price though.

Check Co Ops and Mayo Garden Center. Last year both had them.

Last year I know I brought some at an Ace Hardware Store, it has since went out of Business.
