Any tips for the cherry?

Shotgun - Know how to load it and load it fast.

Rifle - Know your zero and shoot it accurate.

Pistol - Just shoot it fast...

During the stage carry everything you need and nothing you don't.

Good Luck

That's right. Shoot the pistol fast, the rifle accurate, and keep the shotgun loaded and you wil do fine. But most importantly be safe and have fun!

I noticed most folks load and top off on the stage I saw, but most training nowadays seems to be to load one round at a time until under cover. Any suggestion on that?

Also looked like most of the rifle work was very close. I rezeroed after an issue with my eotech and now I am worried that it may have been bad timing as I changed the distance. Oh well, such is life!

I'll be there. I'll be the guy in the green hat that doesn't know what he's watching.

ETA: Also, I was curious if one that didn't participate could carry at this function?

I must have missed both of you. I have to say I had a ball though! it was a great bunch of fun and it was good to be among fellow gun aficionados.

My dad and I just hung around a bit in the back to see what all was going on. It looked like a hell of a lot of fun! Afterwards I ran over to Frontier and priced a shotgun for this use.

I was there as an observer this month as well. I think I met you Jon_L at one of the pistol stages. I will definitely be participating next month. If you are even remotely proficient with your firearms, you will enjoy the shoot. There were folks from all levels of skill there and I didn't see any 'gun store commandos' there trying to impress everyone with how much they know. I had a great time and didn't fire a shot.

I had expected a whole crowd of "holier than thou" types. I was happy to be proved wrong.

And I remember meeting you, as well. I wish I could remember your name, but I had heard a dozen-or-so while I was there. If you saw a guy in a Deerfield Beach shirt, that was me.

I have thought about joining ORSA, is it worth the membership

Posted

I checked out their website, with membership the competition fees are $10 instead of $15.

Not sure the other benefits of memberships, being so far from Seymour, I can't justify joining.

I am seriously considering the Oct 16 3-gun shoot, since it falls on a Sunday.
