Strange/Funny Permit Class Stories

As an instructor I've seen a lot. People not knowing how to load the gun they bring to class. People trying to qualify with .25s they picked up in the pawn shop a few years ago, stuck in a drawer and lost for a while. The worst one I can remember is when I was taking the class myself. There was a O L D fella, wheelchair bound taking the class. He was going to shoot/carry a Beretta pocket pistol (not sure the model, tip up barrel) that he picked up at the factory when his unit invaded Italy. IT HAD NEVER BEEN SHOT. It was still in the factory box. I begged… no pleaded with him NOT to shoot it. I offered him any of my pistols to shoot....nope.

I cried every time he pulled the trigger

Awesome story! That lil thing was a part of history; I can't believe he used it! I get that same "cry" feeling everytime I see Hollywood destroy a beautiful classic car just to get that 4 seconds of action in a film.

I took my class at the Sevier Indoor Range, who are a great bunch of folks and we had a very good instructer. One thing I still laugh about was when the first group of our class went to the range we were instructed to load six then fire on command. The intent on the first load was to fire one shot per command to fire. Somehow that got lost in translation as upon the first command to fire several members in our class proceeded to fire all six shoots ot their target as fast as possible. After the smoke and confusion cleared all was well though for a moment I thought I was at the OK corral

Nothing too strange in my class... But there was SUPER hawt college chick that was probably around 110lbs. She came out on the range with a .44mag with a long barrel. After about 3 shots, she put the gun down and said that she couldn't shoot it anymore then started crying. Of course, there was no shortage of guys jumping up to be the hero and offer her another gun. :-) She ended up doing pretty well with a .22.

Nothing notable in mine except a couple women wearing v necks doing the hot brass dance.

It's very important to look your best when taking the class.

And even a few firearms. Oh! I'll be here all week folks.
