Alabama Ammo

One failure out of 100 rounds of .40s&w through my g23. It struck the primer and dented in the primer considerably. Threw the cartridge away of course, but has anyone seen that? Now I'm leery of AA. The other 99 fired great, felt a little hotter than the PDX I shot at the end of the day.

Bad primmers happen. Nothing to worry about. If you had 10 out of 100 it may be a different story but even then it could just have been a bad batch of primmers. I wouldn't be "leery" in any way. Carry on and shoot more...

I used to shoot AA a lot when I had a 9mm. Never had an issue. Like kwe45919 said, bad primers happen

on occasion. Had one with a WW in 30-06. Only time in 40+ yrs. I ever had that happen, factory or

reloads.

1% failure isn't bad. If it were carry ammo, that's a different story.

Is there a website for ordering online from these folks? I'm not finding it, but then again, it's already been a 15 hour day, so I might be dreaming that I'm typing right now...

Yes and no. They have a site Ammunition for sale | Ammo sale | Cheap Ammo where you may be able to contact them but its not clear if you can order it from there, over the phone, or at all. Ive only seen it at the occasional large gun show, and not often. As for the dud, I have had duds in brand name factory ammo too, stuff happens. These guys provide inexpensive ammo, something we need more of, and so long as there are no dangerous problems (double charges or no powder rounds that block your barrel, etc), the occasional dud can be overlooked. I would gladly pay 50% less per box for a 1-2% dud rate.

qwkvert, The Reloaders Bench in MJ carries them in stock, I picked up 100 rnds there today. 115 gr jhp's for 9mm and the shelves looked pretty full of other calibers as well. $33.00 for 100 rnds is pretty good for non-bulk, quality ammo.

Agree. That's where I used to get my Ala. Ammo, back in the day when the Reloaders Bench made the

gun shows in this area. Good store.

i've had worse luck with the white box Winchester, out of the first 100 rounds i had one round that had a hole punched in the side of the case that caused a jam, and out of the second box i had a round that when they seated the bullet it crimped the case and caused a jam during my IDPA clasiffier.
