on average how many rounds do you fire off per gun and what gun? Just curious.

Recently I went to the range to shoot my new Ruger Vaquero and I used 60 rounds.

I only have my Sig P226 at the moment but I normally fire off about 50 - 100 rounds of .40 and then switch over to .22LR and just fire until I feel like leaving.

So, was we wrong about the 44 special? Pretty sweet huh?

I usually take a hundred per gun minimum.

Yes!! A little harder on the hand(s) than I am used to but that doesn't matter. I'm going again this weekend to fire off my last 40 rounds and maybe buy more if I feel like it.

It all depends on what type of shooting I am doing. Typically it is around 100 - 200 rounds of either 22 or 9mm. Every now and then I will do some work with 45, but not often. It gets too expensive.

50 to 100 rounds per gun, depending on what I take with me. If I'm just working on one gun I may go 150-200 for that one.

My wife and I went last Tuesday and I think we put about 100 rounds through a S&W Model 49 J-frame all-steel (original bodyguard), 50 rounds through the Glock 22, and 50 through the Glock 26.

I bought a rifle and pistol in 9mm so I usually go through 250-300 9mm, 100 rounds 38/357 and then 400-500 22lr for my fun plinking. I do that atleast every other week. All bets are off when with family. When family is in town, I can easily go through 2000 rounds a day myself.

It depends a lot. I tend to spend around an hour at it, and that usually means one of these:

.22 pistol or rifle, 100 or so shots

9mm or mid range pistol, 50-100 shots

large pistol (45, 44, etc) 50 ish shots (less if I take the revolver 44 but I usually take the auto 44)

semi auto rifle (223) 20-100, depends on my mood, accuracy vs rapid fire

large bolt action rifle, 10-20 shots over a long period of time

that covers most of it. I usually take 2 boxes of ammo for whatever gun, but some boxes are 20 or 25 rounds.

Since I only go every once in a while, I feel like I don't get my money's worth out of my trips if I shoot less than 100 rounds per gun.

I guess I'm spoiled. I shoot at my home anytime I want. So every so often as soon as I come home I unload my mags that have defensive ammo and put it the cheap stuff and walk out the back door. And alot when I have company or friends of my kids that don't come from gun owner households that want to shoot. So I usually keep some ammo on hand for about everything I own. I have a sweet Henry .22 survival rifle that my sons teenage buddies like to plink with on regular occasions good cheap fun. So to actually answer the question some days just a few mags from a couple of carry guns and some days a lot of powder smell in the air.

Deerbnb, I envy people like you. I use a public range in summer time. Now that I'm down to one handgun, about 100 rnds each trip. Used to have a MKIII as a second gun and would also shoot a couple hundred through it each trip.

50 rounds is good for about 5 minutes when you cast and load your own. I usually take at least 200 rounds per gun. On at least one occasion I have taken close to 1K rounds and left with as many empty cases. Over the past 3 days I have cast 10K .45 bullets- Nearly 300 lbs of alloy. That should last a while

I go to my parents house, but the same rules apply.

I don't go to the range as often as I'd like. I usually bring 1-2 friends along and usually end up being the one with the guns for others to use. That said I usually bring or end up with about 300+ rounds per gun. unless I'm shooting something like .308 of course.

JUSTLUCK, move on out to God's country. I'd loan my Ruger to a neighbor.

I'll move next month if the ammo for the Ruger is free too.
