Colt safety question

I have a Colt defender and noticed something today when I was cleaning it. With the hammer back and the safety on, if I pull and release the trigger then release the safety, the hammer drops all the way. It seems to me that that should not happen. I'm sure it would not fire because of the firing pin block but would be very un-nerving. I had a trigger job done by Colt about a year ago. Could they have caused this?

No, I have done nothing other than a wilson combat mag. Guess I will be contacting Colt. I had it refinished and dehored at the same time and some of the finish is coming off so maybe they can take care of both problems. Thanks.
