Assuming there's nothing mechanically wrong with it, you'll be amazed how accurate that revolver is.
Very cool! It's in perfect working order!

Wow... the finish is pretty toasted... to bad you dont know someone that could fix that up for you! LOL

Nawww, its great, especially so because of who's it was.

dont most antique firearms dealers say that trying to "repair/redo" an old finish is actually going to decrease the value?

It's not that bad for a pre WWI gun. Almost 100 years old! But.. I wont be refinishing this one!

Its going in a shadow box and going to be displayed in the office.

That's nice. It'll be cool in a shadow box. You should find some old cartridges to go with it. I used to have a handful of 38's that had U.S. stamped on the PRIMER. It was old stuff. I'll have to look and see if I kept them. If I did you could have 'em. I wouldn't shoot them anyway...I wouldn't be afraid to, but with a pistol like yours do they belong.

I looked where I thought they'd be, but my shop is a disaster. After work this evening I'll do some diggin.

Oh BTW, yes you absolutely have to shoot it! Just some light bunny fart loads, but you gotta shoot it at least a few times. It's a moral imperative!

Cool. Lucky you!

Glad your not eager to refinish it. I always cringe when asked to do collectible classics like those.
