Congrats on getting your Tech license! I spent much more time listening than talking when I first started. By the time I got comfortable on VHF, I had passed the General test.

Historically, the TN Phone Net frequency is 3980 Khz. It would be a good place to listen. contributing when useful. You could always ask Net Control to ask for any TGO members to move up or down the band as needed.

Mon-Fri - 5:40 AM, 6:45 AM & 6:30 PM

Saturday - 8:00 AM & 6:30 PM

Sunday - 8:00 AM only

Holidays - 8:00 AM only

In the event of a BIG emergency, the Tennessee Phone Net is probably a good place to go.

Good luck on the exam! When preparing for the Extra exam, I used QRZ.com practice tests for a "few" hours.

If we get enough interest, we could. But it would prob have to be on 80m which means general license.

This is correct. I check into the 80m phone new when i remember and when I am around my HF rig.
