Hi, I’m Maggie. When I’m not in Knoxville working, I’m in the country.. fishing, 4wheeling, and shooting.

I’m rather partial to my Beretta Tomcat, but I’ve got my eye on a S&W bodyguard 38 revolver.

I've lurked here for a while and decided it was time I made a profile and introduced myself.

Welcome, the bodyguard 38 is good, but have you looked into the S&W model 642. Also a great revolver and at a better price most of the time. But if the laser is a must....(sigh).... then the bodyguard is the way to go. Here's a good article on the 642 if you're interested.

The Smith & Wesson Model 642 Centennial Airweight Revolver

The laser is nice, but it isn't a must. I like the way the bodyguard fits in my tiny little hand and it's the perfect weight. I'll check into the S&W 642... now I have a good excuse to go to the gun store :drama:

Thanks for the article too!

it is a lightweight one, that's for sure.... I'm fairly sure that the BG and the 642 feel pretty comparable.

Thanks for the welcome, y’all!

Welcome aboard.

I think you would be happier with a Glock 26.

Just a hunch...

It’s actually funny you mentioned that! I went to the gun store to check out a S&W 642 and as I worked my way down the cabinet, I found the Glock 26. At first I was a little intimidated by it, but after a nice guy spent some time showing me the proper way to rack it, I fell in love... with the gun, not the guy.

So now I have a short list and I’m going to rent and shoot to see which I like the most :D
