Never know what you will see...

at the range. Took the kids to do a little shooting and run a few rounds down my recent gun purchases. I noticed a few guys on the other end of the range shooting a bullet proof vest. :) I couldn't help but watch as they fired round after round at about 10 yards. They hit it with .22lr, 45acp, and .357mag. At the end of the test the vest was pulled apart and several slugs were removed. Some of the bullets never deformed at all. Seems the vest caught and slowed the bullet to the point they never mushroomed. I was 100% impressed with the vests performance. One of the guys said it was rated to stop a 7.62 round. Ya just don't see things like that first hand.

On a side note... the "new to me" Glocks ran without a problem. I did find that when shooting at a faster pace I tend to hit high with them. The XD also ran without a problem. I asked the kids what gun they like best. The Springfield trigger seemed to have won them over.
