Hello and good morning my fellow TGO' ers. Next friday I am picking up a new Springfield EMP in 40 s&w. I need a good IWB holster that I do not have to wait for six months on (although I will be ordering a nice owb.). Any suggestions?

Thanks, any idea where I can pick one up at between tullahoma and Nashville?

You might call Outpost Armory in Christiana. They stock the Comp-Tacs, but may or may not have one for the EMP. Last time I was there the stock was a little low.

The only place I am aware of locally that carries the Crossbreeds is D&T.

I was at outpost this past weekend don't remember seeing a m-tac for a emp. You can order one from Comptac and have it in 2 weeks it's the only way to get exactly what you want.

Life's too short to wear a plastic holster, especially an IWB made of plastic. My first IWB was a Galco Royal Guard and I still have it. It's probably one of the best IWB holsters out there IMHO.

Good luck with a crossbreed.... They've been on backorder since they moved into their new facility. If you could go buy one at a store, that'd be the way I'd go.

Congrats on the EMP. You may have to try several holsters before you find the one that works best for you.

"The Galco King Tuk holster" (similar to a Crossbreed) "has no smell" (some folks report an objectionable smell on their Crossbreed apparently due to leather sealant used), "you can receive it in four days, it's very nice", "and you won't even notice you are wearing it."

+1 on leather... I use Milt Sparks VMII's. Long wait if you're ordering from them, but you can sometimes find them for sale on boards or ebay.

+1 on mtac and supertuck. very similar, both very high quality, both should hold the gun very close to your body and by comfy.

And punctuation!I have a dozen or so holsters for my Glock. The Crossbread is by far the most comfortable of the IWBs I have tried.

I've started using holsters from Occidental Leather Company as they are pretty damn close to the same design and quality of the VM2 with none of the wait time. The Phoenix Stronghold IWB is my favorite.

I now own one of these for pretty much every one of my carry guns.

As I'm sure you know, Tim Thurner (TT Gunleather) designed them and I love my IWB from him (avatar). He also must think they are aces, since he sells them through his own site also:

Good to hear your positive take on those. If I find I need another, I may well grab one of the Strongholds, since they ship quickly, while Tim's stuff is still at least four months or more out.

Those look very nice... especially with no wait.

+1 for the galco king tuck. I ordered mine from Amazon (through optics planet) and got it in 4 days. Same style as the crossbreed, but cheaper and the finish looks a lot nicer.
