I just ordered 2 with mr C&R FFL this morning from www.classicarms.us. They have select grade round Izzy's for $75. From the actual photos (not stock pics), they look VG to Excellent.

All I've seen in LGSs are banged up messes that have clearly been counter-bored and recrowned. And they still want $120 + tax & TICS.

TGI sells some on gunbroker that are in really good condition. I have 2 I got from them. One is a Tula hex 5 line 1925 dated rifle in extremely good condition. Not counterbored.

The other is a 1934 Izhevsk hex receiver that is in almost unissued condition. At least I would call it that. It is exceptional.

I had Austins in Oak Ridge order me on, I think I paid about 120 or 130 for it.

It started out I walked in to ask him how much it could cost to have one transfered as I found a place selling them for 75 as I don't have a C&R and after transfer and shipping he was just a little higher and less hassle. I figured I would just have him order. I think he ordered on Friday and I had it on Tuesday or something like that.

It was still in the Cosmo and it was a 1932 Hex. Most places charge extra to hand pic you a Hex if the even have one. So I will probably hang on to this for a very long time, o yea the bore very good deep rifling. I got it a few months back, took it apart, cleaned it, but 880 rounds for it and have not even taken it to the range yet. (just been 2 busy at work)

I might get it out on the 4th.

They have them typically at the local Murfreesboro stores. Outpost Armory being one.

You will love them. My 9-year-old finally worked up the nerve to shoot mine just 10 minutes ago.

wait for a gun show, usually 10 -20 that you can examine in person and in detail. While you wait for the show, brush up on what to look for and so on.

If you order one get a hex reciever. If you get a round reciever, and they have a select fee get it. The select fee is worth it in my opinion. Some of the round ones look like the reciever was cut out by a beaver.
