now if only i can find an marlin 1894 pre safety 44 ill be happy :pleased:

You mean like the one I put on lay-away at my favorite LGS this past week? I was trying to decide between a .357 lever and a .44 Mag lever. Finding a used, pre-safety (micro-groove rifled) .44 Mag Marlin 1894 made the decision for me. It is just as well - I don't currently have a single action revolver in .357 to pair with a lever gun (I don't do cowboy action I just want to have a lever/revolver combo and pairing a .357 lever with my double action .357 just didn't sound like quite as much fun) but I do have a Super Blackhawk in .44 Mag.

If I could figure out how to post a picture besides using photobucket I'd do it. Winchester 1866, second model.

Oh my!!! Where, may I ask, did you run across that??!!??

Unexpected find when my father passed. It puzzling still to my family where the thing came from. He specifically left it to me. Other than that I have no idea the story behind it and the tie to my father. Took it to a gun show to find out about it when I got it (I was still wet behind the ears on firearms). Lots of people were interested and a few offers. One guy tempted me with big money but kindly passed.
