I have a gen 4. I don't like the grips but that is an easy fix. The magazine release is better though. I hope you like the Glock 19, it's a great little 9mm. My Gen 4 has never failed and it has the #3 recoil spring.

Come to my house. We can shoot it this afternoon. My place seems to be a popular place among friends to use for firing new guns. I like it too, I get to shoot all kinds of new stuff.

Congrats on the new gun. Hope you get to use it soon! I know that feeling of having a brand new gun you are itching to shoot but have nowhere to shoot it. Its a crappy feeling. I miss living out in the country sometimes. :)

All tough I try not to give advice on thing I've not used or tested.

I'd stay a way from internal lasers (especially if it is used for primary carry)

I've read reports of them (even Laser Max) coming apart or loosing contact during heavy use.

And inevitably the batteries will be dead when you really need it.

Google: "laser+Max+Glock+problem"

Type it or copy it just as I have it with the "+" signs.

My advice would be to buy a good night sight (even if it is just the front sight)

If you use the sight right, it will sever you just as well as the Laser.

Oh, and nice pick on the G19.

Good you went with the Gen3 for now.

Hope you get to shoot it soon.

Welcome to the Glock family!

If you are looking for night sights, I suggest Warren Tacticals. I LOVE mine!

Rear sight is a subdued yellow and the front sight is a brighter green. Fast acquisition. I do like them a lot. Of course, to each his own. Congratulations again!

Not sure about the pricing of the warren tacticals, but ameriglo is selling that same setup as "i-dot". Trijicon HD's are similar, but those are some other options as well to consider.

Now a question for you suntzu. I plan on getting either those or the ameriglo i-dots for my m&p40c, I hear people love them for fast acquisition but how are they for precision?

I love my iDots with the red/orange paint around the front sight! As for precision, they seemed to work well enough for me B)http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/handguns/57957-glock-19exo-range-report.html

First time I used these was on a friend's M&P 9 up in VA. Roughly 21 yards on steel targets that are the same shape and size as B27's. I was able to get headshots out of the one magazine I fired. (Zombies, man, they freak me out). That sold me on the sights. I also like the MP9 with the APEX trigger. I shot one with the trigger and one without. Similar, but not all headshots, without the trigger. So yes, I say go for it, you won't be dissatisfied.

Excellent, first thing on my list is to get the apex trigger kit. That was on the list when I knew I was going to buy the gun. Will probably end up ordering the sites, trigger kit, and a new holsters all at once.

From everyone I've talked to about the M & P the trigger kit is the best thing you can get for them. Drop in awesomeness!

I have yet to shoot one with the kit in it, but I am not worried. I have tried, and cannot find a bad word about the DCAEK for the m&p line. If the trigger ends up as good as I am expecting, I have future plans on getting a m&p9L and putting their competition trigger on it for a good range toy. B)
